• 1936 Stromberg-Carlson Console Radio 130-M

  • $150
Submitted for your consideration is a 1936 Stromberg-Carlson console radio, model 130-M. Design is low-boy, in Art Deco style, made from mahogany wood and veneer. Condition of the Cabinet is about VG-EX, which is somewhat unusual for an 80-year-old console radio. Cabinet some light scratches, which can likely be oiled/buffed; nothing major. Grill Cloth is fully intact.

One of the front feet is loose, but all there, and not a problem until console is moved. Either needs glue or a nail, or whatever would secure it. Overall condition is 'not too shabby'.

The only real downside to the condition is the cord, which has its plug attached, but is severely cracked due to dry-rot. It's so bad, I wouldn't dare plug it in until the cord is replaced. Thus, this radio is untested.

The 130-M model employs a P-26246 8-tube chassis, and a P-26170 loudspeaker.

It comes with an octagonal 3-Band "Triple Range" Tuner;

1) Broadcast ~ AM
2) Police
3) Short Wave

As console radios go, this one might be on the lighter side, weighing about 50 lbs. I'm no spring chicken, but can lift it with relative ease. Anything heavier than 50 lbs would render me prone, buzzing for the Visiting Nurses ~ "I've fallen under a console radio, and I can't get up!".

These old radio consoles are hard to find in such good condition. Very similar Stromberg-Carlson model just sold for over $600.00, and it was also untested. Mine is priced for a quick sale.

Price is FIRM @ $150.00 - Cash Only. Buyer to pick up in Concord NH. Thank you.
