NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ORFORD #40366; X-A004(371) #41390; X-A004(620) Under NH RSA 230:14 and Public Law 100-17 (Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987), a public hearing has been set to discuss the proposed addressing of the deteriorated conditions of the NH 25A bridges over Brackett Brook and Baker Pond Brook. The improvements to the bridge over Brackett Brook begin approximately two hundred seventy-five feet west of Upper Baker Pond Road and continue east for approximately nine hundred feet. Improvements to the bridge over Baker Pond Brook begin approximately three hundred seventy-five feet west of the bridge over Baker Pond Brook and continue east for approximately eight hundred twenty-five feet. The proposed improvements will replace these bridges; the bridge over Baker Pond Brook is listed as #44 on the 2024 State Red List Summary by Priority, and the bridge over Brackett Brook is listed as #57 on the 2024 State Red List Summary by Priority. The hearing will be held at: ORFORD TOWN HALL 2529 NH-25A ORFORD, NH on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. The Niles Room at the Orford Town Hall will be open at 5:30 pm for the inspection of plans by any interested persons. This hearing will address both Orford Projects 40366 and 41390. A Finding of Occasion meeting may immediately follow the conclusion of the Public Hearing. The NH Department of Transportation will conduct a public hearing to determine whether there is an occasion for the laying out of these projects and acquiring necessary rights-of-way. Interested landowners, local officials, and highway users are invited to attend the hearing and will have the opportunity to express their comments relative to the project. Audio of the hearing will be recorded. Maps, plans, environmental studies, and other pertinent information developed for the Department, along with written reports received because of the coordination with other agencies, are available at the Department of Transportation at the John O.
